When we are true to ourselves and follow our passions and interests, we are acting as a good example. Sometimes in life, we become so inundated with stress that we end up in a hole too deep to dig ourselves out of. This doesn’t have to feel like a sad pit of despair, maybe it feels like being constantly overwhelmed, on edge, and irritable. This is what usually happens to me when I’m experiencing more stress than I can manage. Prozac was the ladder that helped me climb out of that hole of irritation. If you know me, you know that I avoid prescription medicine at all costs. But this cost became too much to bear and I am glad that I changed my mind and took the pill. The most amazing side-effect was that it completely changed my daughter’s regulation and mood as we were co-regulating better together.
